for once i felt tt n i/c job is worse than taking case..
just dun understand why when the seniors be n i/c, mostly calm n quiet.. nothing as bad as mine happened during their shift..

for tis particular day,
i had 4 admissions, 3 transfer in, 2 transfer out and 3 discharges by myself..
on top of all tis, things just didnt go right that day..
one of my pt left meds behind, another one left without taking all the appts..
at 8.30pm, approached by pt daughter, she wanted to move his dad into a cubicle a.s.a.p

female side was as busy as it is. luckily han is around to look after female side and miao2, settling some stuff for me, answering phone calls
and wenxin, tried to handle as many transfer in as she can
thanks to han and wenxin.

end of the day, i felt great. we did a great job, even without seniors around..

to my the other 5 partners, battle has started. u guys got to be n i/c soon..
we will support each other..

1st day of ND
very busy..
31- 2pint PCT, plt 4 units
one admission - DO, GCS of 8, hypotensive, from ED resus
multiple IV
and a lump of small2 things that add up to a big2 lump
only managed to check thru meds trolley at 2am,
started report at 3+

thanks to zihui, caiji and maiyah for helping to the max..
nice group of ppl to work with..

thank God for proving them wrong and let me survive thru my 1st ND.

had a terrible ND yest..
actually everything was very good. i had finished checking meds trolley at 11pm, given IV and oral meds, take bld, set plug..
till 0220,..
zihui, shouted: shinta, pt not on the bed
my pt missing. My D.O pt. he was on hand and body restrainers. GCS of 13, drowsy..
1st thing that come to my mind, shit, he fell down.
i rushed into the cubicle, pt was not on the floor or toilet or anywhere inside the cubicle..
I n zihui ran to search the whole ward.
I alerted my HA, Devi.
we both went down to level 1 to find him
Devi said that pt has changed clothes..
I checked with the security man, he said he didnt see any pt, except 1 chinese looking man in brown shirt and shorts left in a taxi..
I told him, thats nt my pt cos he didnt changed and he is a malay.
when we went up to the ward, Devi told me he saw this guy has changed his clothes.
True enough when we went back to tt cubicle, we saw hospital clothes was put aside at one corner of the toilet. diapers was thrown aside too..
walked hopelessly to the bed, i saw restrainers and urine bag on the bed, an iv plug that dripping with iv fluids hang down the side rails.

notified police, ND sister and Dr. called up pt 's sister..
put up E-Hor
many thoughts came to my mind, did he jumped down from tis building (nt possible, cos he quite fat), will he commit suicide and many more..

with that many thoughts on my head, i still has to finish up another 12 reports..
seriously, i wasnt able to concentrate at all..

my 2 angels, zihui and caiji, went ahead to do turning..
everyone was feeling guilty, sad, so terrible..

caiji f/u to call pt's sis, pt's sis said that she didnt want to inform us if the pt has reached home, cos she didnt want police to be involved in.
my heart sank down..
how? wad to do? where can he go to? is he alert enough to give his adress to the taxi driver?

later part, caiji called again, tis time round, pt's sis said tt pt has reached home.. will try to persuade him to come back to the hospital..
thank GOD.. heng ar..
HE still look after me..

at 5 plus, pt came back to the ward.
walked in steadily, alert..
he carried a plastic bag, one hand holding milk, the other hand holding bread
oh God, he is hungry..
he claimed that he was hungry, he went down to buy food, realised that he got no money, so took taxi home to take money..

oh dear,...

Suva walked into the ward, took his case sheet and read.
then questioned Devi.
Now, Devi claimed that she didnt see the pt changed at all..

anyway, the pt returned back to the hosptal safely.

i feel vy bad for causing zihui to feel bad and guilty.. blaming herself not taking a good care of the pt. sorry zihui........

i learnt a vy impt lesson thru tis incident..
thank God in aiding me with this incident.
thanks to caiji, zihui, maiyah and tessa for helping thru out the whole ND. without u guys, i wont be able to finish my work on time..
thanks for all the effort tt u guys put in..

now, the pt has absconded again..
